Mrs. Fagerholt's River Watch Team had a great season, ending with the International Water Institute's 2024 River Watch Forum at the Alerus Center yesterday! Over 20 teams from the surrounding area were judged on their creation of a 24-25 River Watch Calendar, a sampling binder that included detailed maps, photos, and descriptions of our water quality monitoring sites, a podcast episode on rivers and watersheds, a project poster detailing the project's process, and in-person judging. Our kids put a lot of work into this project, and we are proud of their efforts!
Reminder for tonight's Student-Led Conferences in Edinburg: at 5:30PM, a rep from Lake Region State College will present on early-entry college course enrollment for interested high school students. If your high schooler is college bound, this is a great opportunity to create a plan to complete general education courses required by all ND colleges and universities, while still in high school. Students in grades 10-12 are eligible to take college courses in high school, but this would also be good information to take in if you'd like to get a head start on high school course planning.
Grades 7-12 Student-Led Conferences in Edinburg: Reminder that Thursday's Student-Led conferences are individual 15-minute presentations provided to you by your student. This means it is essential that at least one family member participate in this presentation. We find these to be important opportunities for you and your child to discuss his or her academic progress, future academic plans, as well as future career ambitions. Your student's teacher has reached out to you to schedule a conference time on Thursday. If you have not responded, please do so ASAP. If Thursday does not work for you, please let your student's teacher know immediately so that you can find a time to reschedule. Again, please help us support your student's learning by taking advantage of this important opportunity.
